Celebrity Edge, the latest cruise ship from Celebrity Cruises has been floated out of her dry dock at the STX shipyard in France. The countdown is now on to her debut in just nine months. Carnival Victory is getting many new options for dining, places to drink and new accommodations during her 17 day dry dock at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard. The last dry dock for Carnival Victory was in 2015, when she received the Alchemy Bar and SkyBox Sports Bar plus other routine maintenance. From April 2016-April 2017 all staterooms were also refurbished while the ship was in service. Carnival Cruise Line has announced that Carly Rae Jepson, the Grammy Award-nominated, multi-platinum, singer/songwriter will perform as part of the Carnival Live concert series in 2018. Jepsen will perform a free concert aboard Carnival Splendor in February 2018. The construction of the world’s first LNG cruise ship is progressing rapidly. AIDAnova now under construction at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The first of two huge ship modules was moved from the assembly hall and taken to the dockyard equipment quay. It makes room for the second engine room module of AIDAnova to progress. By the end of February 2018, this second module will be built up to deck 20. Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line announced in August that they had signed a 10-year agreement with the Port of Palm Beach and that they had purchased a second ship that will also be based at the Port. The company has named the new ship, Grand Classica. Grand Classica will carry up to 1,680 guests and features 685 staterooms, a multitude of restaurants and bars, a theater, two pools, four hot tubs, wellness center and spa, outdoor jogging track and more.
