Sailing on Carnival Breeze with my husband next spring. During booking I selected Early Dining. This is our first cruise in a few years without our children so would prefer a table for 2 which I know we can get with YTD now what are the odds if I email the Maitre D prior to sailing he/she would accommodate instead of us visiting the MDR on embarkation day? Have you heard any success stories with the email option?

Thank you for your question. It certainly would not hurt to email the Maitre’d prior to your cruise. If you get a response great, if not at least you can do t once onboard. I have done it in the past several years ago and was successful. Unless there is some huge rush of people looking to get a table for two, the dining room staff is usually very accommodating and will be able to get it done for you. Note that it make take until night two since the first evening can be a little busy. Is there a reason you don’t want to do MTD? I’ve selected open seating dining on every cruise line for years and I love the flexibility and in most cases, I’ve been able to get the same table and waiter every evening. Have a wonderful cruise.
