While newer ship designs have somewhat relieved bottleneck in major thoroughfares, it does still occur at major onboard gathering points. Adjusting your plans slightly can alleviate some of the stress in these crowded areas. Two spots to avoid are the peak dining times for the buffet at breakfast and lunch, typically 9am-10am on sea days and earlier on port days. Likewise, the main dining rooms are busiest from 6:30PM to 8:30 PM. Unless you have an early shore excursion booked, stay away from the gangway or tendering areas as soon as the ship is cleared to go ashore.
