Construction on the second Vista Class cruise ship, the Carnival Horizon from Carnival Cruise Line is continuing on schedule at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy.
The ship’s stunning spaces – from the Dr. Seuss-themed WaterWorks aqua park and the 270-square-foot Seaside Theatre poolside LED screen to a wide variety of indoor and outdoor dining, beverage and entertainment venues – are taking shape in anticipation for Carnival Horizon’s April 2018 maiden voyage.
Carnival Horizon will debut on April 2, 2018 starting with a 13-Day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona, Spain, the first of four sailings. Carnival Horizon will then sail a 14-Day Transatlantic repostioning cruise on May 9, 2018 to New York, where she will sail a series for 4-Day Bermuda and 8-Day Caribbean cruises throughout the summer.
Following her summer sailings from New York, Carnival Horizon will commence year-round six and eight night Caribbean cruises beginning on September 22, 2018.
Carnival Horizon will be the sister ship to the hugely popular Carnival Vista that was launched in April 2016. A third, yet unnamed, Vista Class ship is also under construction. Just prior to the Carnival Horizon’s arrival to her year-round home port of Miami, the Carnival Vista will reposition from Miami to Galveston, Texas.
